How it works
Four steps. No paperwork beyond a one-page agreement.
- 1
Call or send a request
Tell me what got wet, when, and the ZIP. I'll tell you if the kit is the right tool, and when it can be there.
- 2
I deliver and set it up
Next business day, same-day when available. I place the equipment, take a moisture reading, and run through the setup sheet. $300 card hold.
- 3
It runs. You check the meter.
Most clean-water jobs dry in 3–5 days. The pinless meter in the kit tells you when the subfloor is back to normal — no guessing.
- 4
I pick it up
Final moisture reading, hold released. You pay for the days you used. The weekly rate kicks in on its own at day 5.
Who rents this
The leak is small. The restoration quote isn't.
A restoration company brings a crew, a project manager and an invoice that starts around $2,500. For a clean-water leak caught early, what the job actually needs is dry air moving across the wet spot for a few days.
-
Landlords and property managers
The claim is under your deductible. A week of equipment costs less than one restoration invoice, and the tenant is back in the unit faster.
-
Contractors on an occupied job
You pulled the floor and found a wet subfloor. Dry it this week instead of waiting on a sub, and keep the schedule.
-
Homeowners with a high deductible
You got a restoration quote and it made your eyes water. Clean-water leaks caught early usually just need dry air and time.
-
Restoration companies after a storm
Every unit you own is on a job. Rent the overflow for a week instead of turning away work.
Right job for this kit
- ✓Supply line and pipe leaks
- ✓Water heater failures
- ✓Dishwasher, washer, fridge and ice-maker leaks
- ✓Roof leaks
- ✓AC condensate and drain-pan overflow
- ✓Tub, toilet-tank and sink overflows (clean water)
Wrong job — call a restoration company
- ✕Sewage or toilet-bowl backups
- ✕Outside floodwater, storm surge, groundwater
- ✕Standing water that has sat more than 48 hours
- ✕Anything with visible mold
Contaminated water and mold need containment, PPE and disposal that a rental kit does not provide. I will turn those jobs down on the phone.
Service area
Based in Gastonia. Delivering across Gaston County and the Charlotte side.
25 miles from Gastonia is included. Beyond that it's $1.50 a mile each way — I'll quote it on the phone before you commit.
How fast can you get equipment to me?
Next business day is standard. Same-day when the kit is free and you're inside the 25-mile radius. Call (980) 819-4379 — if I can get it there today, I'll tell you on the phone.
What kind of water damage is this for?
Clean water only: supply-line and pipe leaks, water heaters, dishwasher and washer leaks, fridge and ice-maker lines, roof leaks, AC condensate overflow. If the water came from a sewer line, a toilet bowl, outside flooding or groundwater, or it has been sitting more than 48 hours, or you can see mold, this equipment is not the right tool and I will not rent it for that job. Call a licensed restoration company.
What is in the full kit?
One LGR dehumidifier (~130 pint/day class, built-in pump), four axial air movers (~3,000 CFM each), one HEPA air scrubber (~500 CFM), a wet/dry vac, a 50 ft drain hose, two 12-gauge extension cords, a pinless moisture meter, a thermo-hygrometer and a laminated setup sheet. Enough for one room or one floor of a typical house.
How much does it cost?
Full kit $150/day or $650/week. Pieces rent separately: dehumidifier $85/day, set of 4 air movers $60/day, air scrubber $75/day. The weekly rate kicks in automatically on day 5 — you never pay more than the weekly rate for a week. There's a $300 card hold at drop-off that's released when the equipment comes back in the same shape it left.
How many days will I need it?
Most clean-water jobs caught within a day or two dry in 3–5 days. Hardwood, plaster and thick subfloor take longer. I take a moisture reading at drop-off and again at pickup so you know where you started and where you ended — and you can check it yourself any time with the meter in the kit.
Do you set it up?
I place the equipment where it needs to go, get it running, and walk you through the setup sheet. Takes about 15 minutes. The sheet covers where to point the air movers, how to run the drain hose, and how to read the meter.
