Charlotte Dehumidifier Rental

Rental agreement

The agreement. Short on purpose.

This is what you sign at drop-off. It's here so you can read it before I'm standing in your hallway with a dehumidifier. Last updated October 27, 2026.

1. Parties

This agreement is between Charlotte Dehumidifier Rental, a d/b/a of Flowbear Holdings LLC, Gastonia, NC ("we", "I") and the person or business named on the request ("you", the "Renter"). By accepting delivery you agree to these terms.

2. Equipment

The equipment is whichever of the following is listed on your request and checked off at drop-off:

  • Full dry-out kit
  • LGR dehumidifier only
  • Air movers (set of 4)
  • HEPA air scrubber only

The full kit consists of: 1 × lgr dehumidifier, 4 × axial air movers, 1 × hepa air scrubber, 1 × wet/dry vac, 1 × 50 ft drain hose, 2 × 12-gauge extension cords, 1 × pinless moisture meter, 1 × thermo-hygrometer, 1 × laminated setup sheet. Items are counted at drop-off and at pickup.

3. Rates, deposit and payment

  • Rates are as published on the pricing page on the day of drop-off. The weekly rate applies automatically on day 5 of any 7-day period.
  • The rental period starts the day of drop-off and ends the day of pickup. Drop-off and pickup on the same calendar day is one day.
  • A $300 authorization hold is placed on a credit or debit card at drop-off. This is not a charge. It is released within a few business days of pickup, less any amounts owed under section 7.
  • Rental charges are due at pickup, by card. Businesses that rent regularly may be invoiced by arrangement.
  • Delivery and pickup within 25 miles of Gastonia are included. Beyond that, $1.50 per mile each way, quoted and agreed before delivery.

4. Clean water only

You confirm that the water you are drying is Category 1 (clean) water, meaning it came from a sanitary source such as:

  • ✓ Supply line and pipe leaks
  • ✓ Water heater failures
  • ✓ Dishwasher, washer, fridge and ice-maker leaks
  • ✓ Roof leaks
  • ✓ AC condensate and drain-pan overflow
  • ✓ Tub, toilet-tank and sink overflows (clean water)

You confirm the equipment will not be used on or near:

  • ✕ Sewage or toilet-bowl backups
  • ✕ Outside floodwater, storm surge, groundwater
  • ✕ Standing water that has sat more than 48 hours
  • ✕ Anything with visible mold

If I find at drop-off that the job falls into the second list, I will not leave the equipment and the one-day minimum does not apply. If the equipment is returned contaminated, you are responsible for professional cleaning or replacement under section 7, and I may decline future rentals.

5. Delivery, setup and pickup

  • I deliver, place and start the equipment and walk you through the setup sheet. A moisture reading of the affected area is taken and recorded at drop-off and again at pickup.
  • Someone 18 or older must be present at drop-off to sign and provide the deposit card.
  • You will provide safe access and working electrical circuits. The full kit draws approximately 20 amps and should be split across two circuits.
  • Pickup is scheduled by phone. If I arrive for a scheduled pickup and cannot access the equipment, the rental continues at the daily rate until I can.

6. Your responsibilities during the rental

  • Keep the equipment at the delivery address. Don't move it to another property or lend it out.
  • Use it as shown on the setup sheet. Keep the dehumidifier upright, keep the drain hose running downhill to a drain, keep the air scrubber's intake clear.
  • Use the 12-gauge cords supplied. Don't daisy-chain more than two air movers per cord.
  • Keep it dry on the outside. The equipment moves water through the air, not through a puddle. Don't set it in standing water.
  • Call me if anything stops working. Don't open it up.

7. Loss, damage and return condition

  • You are responsible for the equipment from drop-off until I pick it up, including theft and damage, regardless of cause, except normal wear.
  • Missing items are charged at replacement cost. Damaged items are charged at repair cost or, if beyond repair, replacement cost. Equipment returned contaminated (see section 4) is charged professional cleaning or replacement.
  • Amounts owed are taken from the deposit hold first. You agree to pay any balance beyond the hold within 7 days of being invoiced.

8. What this is and isn't

This is an equipment rental. It is not a restoration service, an inspection, or advice about your insurance claim. I'll give you my honest read on what I see, but you are responsible for deciding whether to dry it yourself or hire a licensed restoration contractor, and for the results. I don't guarantee that any particular material will dry, that mold won't develop, or that an insurer will accept anything. Moisture readings are for your information and are not a certification of anything.

To the extent the law allows, Flowbear Holdings LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damage — to the property, its contents, or anything else — arising from use of the equipment. Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the rental charges you paid.

9. Cancellation and extension

Cancel for free any time before the truck leaves. After delivery, the minimum is one day. Extensions are fine by phone as long as no one is booked behind you; the same rates continue.

10. The boring part

This agreement is governed by North Carolina law. If a term of it is found unenforceable, the rest stands. This page plus the signed drop-off sheet is the whole agreement; anything else we discussed is a conversation, not a term.
